Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains what personal information Samirla collects, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We respect your privacy and handle personal data in line with the Philippine Data Privacy Act of 2012 (RA 10173).
1. Information we collect
- Account data: your name, email address and password (stored hashed, never in plain text).
- Billing data: plan, billing interval and payment references. Card details are handled by our payment processor (PayMongo); GCash/Maya payments are confirmed via a reference number you submit. We do not store full card numbers.
- Usage data: basic logs such as API requests, feature usage and error events, used to keep the Service secure and reliable.
- Voluntary data: anything you submit through our newsletter, contact or careers forms.
- Tracker data (optional): if you use the personal Tracker, the income and expense entries you record: amount, date, category, payment method, any name or note you attach, and your budgets and goals. You choose what to enter; we do not connect to your bank, card or e-wallet accounts, and we never ask for banking credentials.
Tracker photos stay on your device. When you capture a photo with an entry, the image is stored in your browser's local storage on that device only. It is never uploaded to us, and we cannot see it. Clearing your browser data, or switching to another device, removes those photos. They are not backed up anywhere.
Your Tracker entries are private to your account. They are not shared, sold, published, or used to build advertising profiles, and no administrator view of an individual user's entries exists. You can export everything you have recorded, or permanently delete all of it, at any time from the Tracker.
The economic and commodity data shown in the Service is public, aggregated information and does not identify you.
2. How we use your information
- to create and operate your account and provide the Service;
- to process payments and manage subscriptions and trials;
- to send service-related messages (e.g. receipts, trial reminders, important notices);
- to improve, secure and troubleshoot the Service;
- to send marketing or product updates only where you have opted in (you can opt out anytime).
3. Legal bases
We process personal data on the bases of performing our contract with you (providing the Service), your consent (e.g. newsletter), our legitimate interests (security, improvement) and compliance with legal obligations.
4. Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with service providers that help us run the Service (for example our payment processor, hosting and email providers) under appropriate safeguards, and where required by law or to protect our rights.
5. Cookies & local storage
We use minimal browser storage (such as a login token kept in your browser's local storage) to keep you signed in and remember preferences like your watchlist. We do not use invasive third-party advertising trackers.
The Hindsight game is playable without an account. When you play, your browser generates a random identifier and stores it locally so your streak and score can be kept between visits. That identifier is not linked to your name or email unless you choose to sign in and save your streak to your account. For each round we record which series and date you were shown, the direction you chose, whether it was correct, and how long you took to decide. We use this to keep the game fair and balanced and to understand how people read price movements; it is not used to profile you or shown to other players. Clearing your browser storage ends the association, and you can ask us to delete your game history at any time using the contact details below.
6. Data retention
We keep personal data for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes and enforce agreements. You may request deletion of your account data, subject to records we must retain by law.
7. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including password hashing, encrypted connections and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information and to notify you of any breach as required by law.
8. Your rights
Under the Data Privacy Act you have the right to be informed, to access, to object, to correct, to erase or block, to data portability, to damages, and to lodge a complaint with the National Privacy Commission. To exercise any of these, contact us using the details below.
9. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the "Last updated" date above and, for material changes, provide additional notice where appropriate.
